Our Boiler Coverplans is designed to give you complete peace of mind when it comes to the reliability and safety of your heating system.
Our plan includes an annual boiler service to ensure your boiler runs efficiently and safely, with all necessary checks carried out by our Gas Safe registered engineers. The plan also includes unlimited call-outs, parts and labour for repairs, and system health checks.
In the event of a breakdown, you’ll benefit from priority response, 24/7 and with access to experienced engineers when you need them most.
Somerset Gas offers one level of cover offering full protection of your heating system, including parts, labour, and call-outs.
The plan includes access to expert advice and customer support. Full details of what's included in each tier are outlined in your policy document and on our website.
Whilst we are aware of other plans out there, that often require an excess, we don't.
Our coverplan agreement is an alternative to other options in the industry and if therefore, you’d prefer to avoid any unexpected charges, we offer a no-excess option where all eligible repairs are fully covered.
We cover most gas boilers installed in domestic properties that are less than 15 years old, in good working condition, and have been properly maintained.
To ensure the integrity of the plan, we may require a boiler inspection before cover begins.
Unfortunately, boilers with known faults, poor installation, or those considered beyond economical repair (BER) will not be eligible for cover.
Systems connected to biomass, LPG, or oil (unless otherwise agreed) are not covered under standard gas plans.
At this time, Somerset Gas no longer support boilers that are manufactured by:
Halstead, Ariston, Ferroli, Vokera or Saunier Duval.
Yes, there is a 28-day exclusion period from the start date of your policy. This means that you won’t be able to make any claims or call-outs for faults during that time.
This period exists to prevent claims for pre-existing issues and ensures fair use of the service. Any faults however will be discovered during your initial service.
Yes. An annual service is a key feature of every Somerset Gas Coverplan (one every contracted, annual cycle). Our engineers will check your boiler’s overall condition, clean components where necessary, inspect for leaks, assess performance, and ensure it meets safety and efficiency standards.
We'll also provide a written service report and certificate, which is especially important for homeowners selling a property or landlords managing tenant safety.
If you experience a breakdown, simply call our dedicated helpline which is open 24/7. You’ll receive a priority call-out from one of our qualified engineers, who will aim to attend within 24 hours (or sooner during colder periods and for vulnerable customers).
We’ll diagnose the problem on-site and we’ll aim to fix it immediately or order parts as required. If the issue is excluded from cover, we’ll always explain the situation clearly and offer you a fair, fixed-cost repair quote.
Yes. While our plan is designed to cover the most common and costly issues, some exclusions apply. These include:
Pre-existing faults or poor workmanship from previous engineers
Limescale and sludge build-up (common in older systems without filters)
Upgrades or changes to your heating system
Faults arising from DIY repairs or accidental damage
External pipework, radiators, and thermostat issues (unless covered in enhanced plans)

Yes. We offer cover specifically tailored for landlords, which includes the annual Gas Safety Certificate (CP12) as part of the plan.
We understand the legal obligations landlords face, and our team will work with you to ensure you remain compliant with all current gas safety regulations. We can liaise directly with tenants to arrange access, minimising hassle for you.

We'll ask you a few quick questions about your current boiler and heating setup, and in some cases, arrange a short inspection.
