We have completed a new project, providing a comfortable and safe environment is paramount in care home settings. That’s why we were thrilled to partner with Taunton Care Home on a vital project to modernise their heating and hot water systems. By delivering a state-of-the-art solution tailored to the needs of their residents and staff, we’ve helped to create a space that prioritises comfort and reliability.

Project Overview

The care home’s existing heating and hot water systems were outdated and struggled to meet the demands of a busy facility. With a focus on efficiency, sustainability, and uninterrupted service, we were tasked with designing and installing a modern system that would cater to the home’s unique requirements.

Step 1: Understanding the Needs

Our team began by conducting a comprehensive survey of the care home’s infrastructure. We identified several key challenges:

  • Inconsistent heating across rooms and communal areas.

  • Limited capacity to meet the hot water demands during peak times.

  • High energy consumption and operational costs.

Working closely with the care home management, we developed a plan to address these issues with minimal disruption to daily operations.

Step 2: Installing a Modern Heating System

The new heating system was designed to provide consistent warmth throughout the care home. Key features include:

  • High-efficiency gas boilers to reduce energy consumption.

  • Smart controls allowing for precise temperature regulation in different zones.

  • Improved insulation in pipework to minimise heat loss.

Step 3: Upgrading the Hot Water System

Ensuring a steady supply of hot water was a top priority. Our solution included:

  • Installing a high-capacity water heater capable of meeting peak demand.

  • Incorporating advanced thermostatic controls for safe and reliable hot water delivery.

  • Designing the system for quick recovery times, ensuring availability even during the busiest periods.

Step 4: Prioritising Safety and Compliance

As with all our projects, safety was at the forefront. We ensured full compliance with all relevant regulations and carried out rigorous testing before handover. The new system was designed to provide peace of mind for residents, staff, and management.
